8 Reasons Windows Users Don’t Switch

A unique perspective of what keeps Windows users away from Macs, from someone who recently switched.


As a recent convert from Vista to Mac, I have to agree with many of these items. I have a 5 month old, very nice Dell Lattitude w/4GB memory, 120 fast drive and 1920x1024 screen that is currently sitting in sleep mode as I compose this on my month old black macbook.


I also switched my development environment to Aptana and Coda for my iPhone based web sites. I was using Visual Studio 2005 and got about 3 sites out in 2 months. On the macbook with the Aptana/Coda combination, I'm up to 7 or 8 sites either in production or ready to go. I really do attribute this to the ease of use and testing on the mac. Granted, the sites are for the iPhone, so there is an advantage for the Mac. For my real job, I need a fast machine running SQL Server 2005 with the Dell does very well.
