iPhoneAtom Google News Feed Reader

From my work with the iUI javascript and css, I decided to integrate Google News feeds into an iPhone ONLY web site. You can still view it with the Safari 3.0 beta browser on you desktop, but you'll get a warning message and have to select the link explicitly on the page.

Some fun!!! Any feedback is appreciated. I plan on improving this over time but I think it's in decent working order now. I'd like to add the ability to add/delete your own feeds and have some better ad placement. Also, a neat logo would be nice.

First iPhone Class-Action Suite Against Apple and AT&T

It was bound to happen. It seems that a guy called Trujillo has been the first to file a class-action suite against Apple and AT&T because of the iPhone. The reason? You guessed it, it's the battery. Read all about this Mickey Mouse lawsuit, including the entire complaint text, after the jump.

A guide to some of the best blogs, podcasts, reviews, applications, and tips for the iPhone.

Of course he forgot mine! Maybe my vast server farm was so busy that he didn't have time to wait? He mentions the site everythingiphone.com. I have to admit, it's a great site with a TON of information.

iPhoneApps on your iPhone using iUI

BIG Announcement.... I created a special page just for iPhone users that uses Joe Hewitts iUI CSS and Javascript. You should be automatically redirected when you access this site on the iPhone browser. If you'd like to see it in action on your desktop, load the link above on the Apple Safari 3 beta browser.

Now for the neat part, using my Blogger site feed file and some XSL files to reformat to the appropriate format. This means it's totally automatic and instantly updated whenever I publish.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Only a few days after the iPhone went on sale, hackers were already kicking the wheels and checking under the hood to see if they could pimp out Apple's locked-down smartphone. After a month, they've made surprising progress.

Apple Provides Tips for Longer iPhone battery life

One of the biggest criticisms of the iPhone is that, unlike many other mobile phones (particularly smartphones), it lacks a removable battery. This means that that once your battery stops holding a good charge, you have to pay for Apple to replace it. Perhaps in response to criticisms, Apple has put up an informative and rather amusing site to help

Pictures of the iPhone and Newton

Wow, the Newton looks absolutely HUGE compared to the iPhone. This guys really takes care of his obsolete technology and even has a Newton eMate. I remember playing with a Newton years ago and was somewhat impressed at the time (1991). It's amazing how far technology has come since then. Of course, I was amazed at the blazing speed of the IBM PC AT when I first used one (1985).

iPhone Security Flaw: Apple Faithful to the Rescue

It seems that the iPhone security flaw isn't as likely as the NY Times would lead you to believe. TUAW has posted a response the the Times article.

"Here's the real deal: if your iPhone connects to a malicious wireless network, and you surf to a web page (which the black hats replace with a poison page), you'd get the malware. Erica calls this the "Panera Bread" problem, where the bad guys set up an access point with the same name as a popular, trusted point. This exploit does not allow an attack from a remote machine on a shared WiFi network that is uncompromised; you'd have to connect to a WLAN specifically configured and owned to catch iPhones."

6G iPod UI video: Apple's new interface?...Apple Legal Department Involved!

According to this MacRumors video -- which has since been pulled per request of Apple's legal department -- the new iPod interface will look a lot like the iPhone. Go figure. Of course, there's always the chance that this video might be a fake, but if that's the case, why is Apple so worried about it? See for yourself after the break.

So easy a 1 year old can use it.

(Video) The Power of Good UI Design

The iPhone is a gadget that trumps everything that's come before it, and likely, many things that will follow it. The term 'user-interface' has taken on a whole new meaning. Even 2-year olds know how to use it—instinctively.
