Reinvent the Phone? 10 Million units in 2008?

Are people jumping to conclusions about the iPhone? MacWorld calls it a wake up call for the phone industry. I know I think its just totally great right now, but, time will tell. Some questions that come to mind are:
  • Will I be able to get one?
  • How will Cingular/at&t handle the release and support?
  • It had a great demo, but how will people like it when it's in their hands?

  • Can I live without a keyboard with my fat fingers?

  • Will it work well when not in WiFi range?

  • Can I install my own applications on it?

  • $500-$600 is alot of money for a phone. I already have an iPod and smart phone now. Is it worth it?

For the most part, I was immediately amazed at the phone. I currently use a Motorola Q on Verizon and love it. Do I love it due to the great Verizon coverage, EDVO speed, and wide range of third party software or just the coolness of the Q? Remember, the phone has to work and be functional.
